Had no trouble synching to new android cellphone a few months ago. Having the same issue as Linda above. What a terrible terrible situation. I can no longer use Verizon email on my Outlook in PC. My iPhone works flawlessly, goodbye windows. Google your specific email and setup incoming email with the advanced ports.
Instructions will tell you correct port. The setup outgoing mail and again go to advanced tab for correct port. My phone, my 2 computers. Not 1 of them worked correctly. My ATT help 1 hour long never got it right. It worked perfectly. I have a similar problem in that I still have no problem receiving or sending Verizon. And it worked well with my Outlook email app until a couple of days ago.
But no more. I keep getting the instruction to update the password for my yahoo account. Keep putting it in —- it is the correct password—- but it is never accepted. Windows 10 had a large update that I installed a couple of weeks ago and it wiped out all my saved passwords.
Apple looks better all the time. Had anyone come up with a solution? Same here — started two days ago. Can see my email in any application save for my desktop Outlook. Changed the password just in case. The same outcome — can login from anywhere save my Outlook. Any help will be appreciated. Bought a one month service plan with AOL to fix it. Many hours, over three different service calls, remoting to my computer etc etc etc could not fix.
Called again tonight. They want to charge more money. They said my problems are unique. I found this site. Haha … my problems are NOT unique. Am going to try to figure out how to get gmail to pick up the verizon e-mails. Anyone try that? With any success? I think with some of the content of the article above, I was able to conjure a solution. Previous desktop died, so I could not check the settings for Outlook. When I installed Office with Outlook on the new computer, and opened the Outlook icon, I was then met with errors on the setup screen.
I used POP pop. I also tried IMAP. I am using Outlook and cannot seem to get Outlook to connect using these directions or two or three others on the internet thus far.

It all of a sudden stopped working for me too. However, i have read that a very recent Microsoft update may make Outlook e-mail not work and Microsoft has not found a fix for it yet! Using Outlook on Windows I get the following lengthy error message regarding my Verizon AOL mail. Error: Cannot connect to the server.
If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider ISP. When I open accounts in Outlook, all of my current email addresses are listed. When I click on my verizon email to repair the settings, I noted that outlook defaults to a connection with yahoo: imap. Each time I attempted to change this, it reverted back to the yahoo setting and I got, yet again, the same error message as above.
