And not only the ones you'd expect like multiplayer tactical shooters or RTS games, but also classic twitch shooters like Quake 3 or Unreal Tournament are very much about map control, ie controlling your opponent's movement patterns and keeping them away from certain item and weapon pickups or putting them in a disadvantaged position.

I just thought this was going somewhere different than it did is all. Not everything needs to be an "action" game. I just saw the screenshots for this game and figured it to be a top down survival horror style zombie game. You can never have enough great survival tltles. But when I think tension caused by zombie infestation. I don't think turn based combat.
My opinion. Tension in survival games is caused by vulnerability of your characters, not by requirement to have quick fingers. But I'm sure someone is cooking up "generic zombie slasher" full of quick time events that will suit your taste.
A zombie survival RPG that plays in the style of Fallout was an excellent design choice that sets it apart from the rest of the shambling horde. I wouldn't have been interested otherwise. Turn based is one of the reasons I will buy this game. I avoid realtime like a plague.
